2023-24
Archery
Year 3 had great fun during their archery sessions in the hall. They tried archery and discovered how to safely shoot their arrows at different targets.
Cooking
During the year, the children in Year 3 love cooking. We love being able to use the Shake and Bake Room.
Stone Age Morning
We spent the morning trying out some of the skills that Stone Age people would have developed as part of their lives as hunter gatherers. The children loved using their stalking skills to creep up on the 'woolly mammoth' and fire weapons(vortex from the PE cupboard) at the mammoth.
2022-2023
Cheltenham Science Festival
Year 3 had a fantastic time at Cheltenham Science Festival. All of the children enjoyed being able to use interactive activities to explore new science and technology ideas.
Climbing wall and caving activities
Year 3 had a super time developing new skills when they tried out the climbing wall and caving trailer. The Year 3 team were impressed that everyone tried on the safety helmets and harnesses. Each child was encouraged to have a try at a new activity and support their friends to 'have a go'.
Train trips to Worcester
In Geography we have been finding about the world around us. We travelled to Worcester Foregate Street Station on the train from Gloucester with Platform Rail. We have found out how to travel safely on the train and thought out about why transport has changed over time. We have created our own ideas for sustainable transport. Ask us about the fascinating facts that we discovered about train travel - you may be surprised!
Cooking
All of Year 3 have been busy finding out about healthy foods and have been cooking in the 'Shake and Bake' room. This term we have made pizzas with Mrs Coughlan and Mrs Holl. Try our pizza recipe -we all loved the pizzas!
Language Ambassadors
Year 3 have been lucky to have a visit from the Year 9 Language Ambassadors from Sir Thomas Rich's School (STRS) with their teacher Mrs Khokher. The STRS students taught us some French and German words and we had a fun afternoon. We showed the STRS students some things that we had been learning in our French lessons.
