Year 5
Pop up books
As part of their mechanisms unit, Year 5 pupils have been designing and making pop up nursery rhyme books for a younger target audience. Year 5 pupils researched popular nursery rhymes and created a design for the pages in their book. Then, they used their ideas in their book and added the pivot and slider mechanisms inside. Then, they enjoyed sharing their books with some Y1 pupils.
Stuffed toys
Year 5 pupils refined their sewing skills by making stuffed toys. They learnt how to sew using a blanket stitch and how to use applique to decorate the front of their toy.
