During the spring term, Year 4 pupils learnt that a shape of a vehicle can affect the level of drag (air resistance) during movement. Pupils then used this knowledge to design their own car shape - it had to be aerodynamic. Then, pupils worked collaboratively in groups, to build the chassis, mechanism and test the slingshot car, against each others', in a race!
In the Autumn term, Year 4 pupils learnt how to adapt a recipe. The children researched existing biscuit flavours by taste testing. The children thought about the appearance, flavour, taste and texture. Then, they designed and made their own choice of biscuit by following a recipe. Following their evaluations, pupils then adapted their recipe and re-made the biscuits to make them even better.
